Get Involved with the Film!

This is a proposition to invite able, hard working and committed individuals to work with me and become involved in the promotional campaign of the documentary film being developed by me to research the qualities of the super successful. While the film is still not complete, I am now planning to build a well structured promotional campaign for the film so that it receives the public awareness it deserves before it is finally out in the market. Since the film will now involve international personalities as well, it is no longer geographically restricted to India and will be released in other countries as well. Therefore, I am inviting volunteers from all over the globe to work with me in the promotional campaign. The introduction of the film, the potential impact, the commercial viability, the promotional objectives and the benefits for volunteers have been mentioned in this note. Therefore if you are interested, please read on:

INTRODUCTION

For those who are still not aware about the documentary film I am developing, kindly let me introduce it and the concept. I am in the process of developing a film that intends to gain insight into what one requires to be a super achiever in life. For this film I have already interviewed some of the most well known personalities in India and intend to interview many more. I am making this film for people who go through life trying to figure out what it takes to be successful and always get vague answers like “luck” or “hard work” from the environment around them. You don’t learn how to be successful by listening to someone who isn’t. The most proven path to becoming successful is listening to what successful people have to say, studying their teachings and emulating what they have done.

Here is my facebook group for the film where you can see the videos and pictures uploaded from interviews so far.

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw – Founder of Biocon, the largest Biotechnology company in India

Sushil Kumar – Olympic Medal Winner (Beijing Olympics)

Som Mittall – President of NASSCOM (Largest association of Software and Service companies in India)

Potential Impact of the film:

This documentary is unique in the sense that it is the first time that several influential appear together in a documentary film and educate the viewer on the mentality one requires for being successful. There may be have been documentaries with similar ideas but what sets this film apart is the fact that all the interviewees are extremely well known and successful in their own fields. Also, the issues discussed by these individuals are highly practical in nature instead of spiritual or metaphysical talk.

There have been books published on these topics before and the books offer very solid advice as well. However, a documentary has the potential to impact individuals on a wide scale simply due to the fact that the message conveyed is through a visual medium and therefore appealing to much of the population which prefers to “watch” rather than read. The internet age has also ensured the rapid circulation of a documentary or a video message all over the world within a short span of time.

The impact of the documentary will also be global. The interest in this film shown by people abroad has been very encouraging and has convinced me that it is not just Indians but the entire world that will be interested in this film. For further global appeal I also intend to interview a few international personalities and am currently scouting for sponsors for my international visits.

Commercial Viability:

The objective of this film is to educate people all over the world about the mentality one requires for success. This goal can only be achieved through commercialization of the film. Commercialization makes it possible to achieve maximum penetration.

Due to interest shown in this film by people in India and abroad, it is evident the market for this film is global. For a global market, the most effective marketing medium is the internet. The internet is the most cost effective and powerful medium to market the documentary and get maximum returns.

In 2006, a documentary called “The Secret” was released and marketed entirely through the internet through an intense viral marketing campaign. The subject matter of the Secret was “The law of attraction” which basically talked about how individuals attract things they think about the most. The documentary was rejected by the TV channel it was made for because according to the, the number of viewers wouldn’t be high. But this film went on to create history by becoming of the most commercially successful documentaries ever because of an extremely well planned viral marketing campaign on the Internet.

The Success of the Secret has proved that one does not need to have a Hollywood sized budget and spend money on expensive advertisements in order to promote their film. By developing a well planned viral marketing campaign, the documentary I am in the process of making can go on to achieve its goal of educating people all over the world on the qualities required for success. It will also fetch high returns for those who invest in this film, especially in the early stages.

Objectives and benefits for Volunteers:

1) Volunteers are expected to help with as many of the 5 current objectives we have in mind for our film. The objectives have been listed below after this section.

2) Volunteers don’t have any obligation to definitely complete work if they are busy with something else, but of course, whoever puts in the most effort, gets the maximum benefit.

3) The benefit would be in proportion to the effort they put in. People who put in regular and sustained effort will have it attested in their CV/Résumé by me that they were involved in helping with the promotion of this film. When this film becomes an international success, having those credentials in the Résumé would be immensely helpful.

4) Additionally, if you are able to bring in investors, you would again receive some stake in the film for helping bring in investors. Please keep in mind, the stake would probably not be big. It is simply a token of my appreciation for the efforts you put in so that when the film profits, so does everyone who helped genuinely. Of course, the size of stake would still be in proportion to the investment money you can bring in.

List of Current promotional Objectives:

Objective 1

a) I would be involved in delivering several talks and motivational seminars in India or internationally as a part of my promotional campaign for the film. Our objective is to find event management companies who would sponsor my visits and organize my events.

b) The benefit these event management companies would have is that they would get to associate themselves with my film. In fact any company that associates with the film in one way or the other will benefit tremendously. The benefit they would get from the association is their names maybe be mentioned in promotional materials for the film. When this film becomes a huge success, these companies would gain tremendous brand visibility.

Please note that all my international visits would require sponsors as well. If you can help in arranging the events and sponsors, please contact me.

Objective 2

Our second objective is to contact people in the media and get maximum possible media coverage. We will be giving interviews to people who run newsletters, magazines, radio, regional television stations and eventually when the film gets popular we can appear on national TV as well. Please contact me if you can arrange for any sort of media
coverage that is possible right now.

Objective 3

Our third objective is to find reasonably FAMOUS international personalities to be interviewed for the film. Having famous international people in our film would give us tremendous exposure and greatly increase interest in the film in America and the world. If you have any contacts through which you can set up interviews with such people, that would really be helpful. As already mentioned, I also need sponsors for my international visits.

Objective 4

The 4th objective is getting in touch with marketing experts in order to come up with a concrete viral marketing plan to rapidly promote the film without spending much money. If you know someone please introduce me to them. If you have your own ideas, please suggest them.

Objective 5

Our fifth and perhaps the most important objective is to find investors for the film. This film is going to be extremely commercially viable. The success of the movie “The Secret” has demonstrated the fact that an interesting topic along with viral marketing techniques can lead to tremendous commercial success. If the investors invest in such a film at an early stage, they would get tremendous returns. I will prepare a proper business plan and mail it to you which you can float to prospective investors once they show interest. We do not always require huge investors. People can invest as little as $100. The share of the profit they would get would be in proportion to the money they invest.

CONCLUSION

The international commercial viability of this film is evident. Individuals regularly involved in the promotional campaign for this film will benefit in terms of the official acknowledgement I give for their help which will be tremendously helpful in the future because of the prestige involved in being associated with the documentary. Those who bring in investors will also receive a stake in the company so that they too benefit when the movie turns profitable. The list of promotional objectives have been mentioned in this note.
